  • Use penguin actions for a followthe- leader game! Have children line up behind you. Lead them around the classroom, having them copy your movements.
  • For example, you can say ¡Vamos a nadar, pingüinos! and move your arms through the “water.” You can also chapotear by flapping your “wings” up and down. And, of course, you can saltar and caminar. Then have kids bucear back to their place on the rug!
  • When kids are familiar with the game, they can take turns being the leader.
  • You can also reinforce penguin vocabulary at transition time. For example, have kids caminar como pingüinos when it’s time to line up!
