Scavenger Hunt: Pages 2-3

  • Use pages 2-3 of the issue to do this scavenger hunt as a group.

1. Find the heading. Underline it.

2. Find the picture where the lion is carrying its cub. Put a ✔ on it.

3. Find the word that means plant-eater. Circle it.

4. Look in the lion’s mouth. How many teeth do you see?

Skill: writing and drawing

Materials: Which Chompers Would You Choose? skill sheet, pencils, crayons

  • Hand out the skill sheet. Would children rather have lion teeth or beaver teeth? Have kids circle their choice. They can also color the picture.
  • Next have kids complete the second sentence with a fact they learned, such as tear meat or eat twigs.
  • Finally, have kids draw themselves with their new teeth!
