- How fun is it to play in the snow! Noodles takes us in his snow adventure and he also makes a new friend.
- The cover of the mini book makes it a perfect pairing!
Draw the Word: congelado
Draw the Word: congelado
- Kids learned the word congelado from the mini book. Help make the word “stick” by having kids draw what the word means.
- Use our Dibuja la palabra skill sheet or have kids draw something that is congelado in a word journal.
Hands-on Activity: El experimento del hielo derretido
Hands-on Activity: El experimento del hielo derretido
Skill: investigating
Materials: plastic bowls or containers; ice cube trays or small paper cups, water, baking soda, sugar, salt
- Make four large ice cubes using a tray, or by freezing small paper cups full of water. Break the class into four groups.
- Give each group an ice cube in a plastic dish and one of the following: a small amount of water, a spoonful of baking soda, a spoonful of salt, or a spoonful of sugar. Ask: ¿Qué derretirá el hielo más rápido? Give each child a skill sheet and have them make their prediction.
- Then set a timer, add the ingredients, and see what happens! (Salt will most likely melt the ice the fastest. That is why people put salt on sidewalks and roads during snowstorms!)
- Have children record their results on the sheet.
